The Sample Family

James Sample lived and worked in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania before coming to Clermont. He worked as a policeman and here is a photo of him in his uniform.

 James Sample came to Clermont in 1921. his wife was the former Margaret Flickinger and their Children were Earl, Clarence, Mary, Gertrude, John, and Esther. At first Jim worked in the mine at Clermont and eventually became plant foreman for Clermont Clay Products Company. Esther married John Aloi and still lives in Clermont.
